T-Pain Arrested

R&B singer T-Pain was arrested this morning (November 2) in Florida for outstanding warrants in Tallahassee.

T-Pain is charged with a non-moving traffic violation and driving with a suspended license, according to reports.

The arrest is certainly not at a good time for the singer, as T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, Lil' Boosie and others are scheduled to perform tomorrow at FAMU's homecoming.

It's not all bad for the singer, however, as T-Pain's monster hit Buy You a Drank was voted bestselling ringtone of the year, selling over 2.5 million units, according to Nielsen Ringscan.

T-Pain has just released his latest video and single titled Church, from the soundtrack to the movie Step Up 2.

With the release of Jay-Z’s tenth studio album, American Gangster, set to release on November 6th, Sirius Satellite Radio has announced that Hov will host his own radio show for the entire week (starting Monday, November 5th).

The show, Jay-Z Nation, will feature music from American Gangster as well as older songs with exclusive Jay-Z interludes and personal introductions. The show will also feature a live playback of Jay’s upcoming House of Blues performance in Chicago.

“Jay-Z is one of the preeminent creative forces in the music industry. Over the last decade, he has truly changed the face of hip hop and music culture. We are excited to have him take over our airwarves and provide our listeners with this unique and exclusive experience,” says SIRIUS President of Entertainment and Sports, Scott Greenstein.

Cass & Patron Teaming up?

Less than four months after Cassidy's hit "My Drink N' My 2 Step" swept the nation with its catchy chorus, wordplay and dazzling Swizz Beatz production, the Philadelphia rapper may get compensation for supplying The Patron Spirits Company with a blazing free endorsement of their famous tequila. The lyrics to the song's chorus tote, "I'm home / Get the Patron / And tell 'em that's on!"

"I don't say just anybody's name [in a song]. That's why I get endorsement deals and things like that," Cassidy told HipHopDX. "You put your name on something and start talkin' about it, promotin' it, when a lot of people look up to you and want to be like you. There are way more people drinking Patron now since I put it in a song or since T-Pain [did]. Liquor is liquor. People just want to have fun and get drunk. You can just make anything popular if you're famous and you're a rapper. You're supposed to be a trend-setter."

Although Cassidy would not confirm the terms or completion of the deal, he hinted that talks are in place. "Even if I don't get the right type of endorsement deal with Patron, it still lets you see how much power my words got. So when I go to negotiate my deal, or any deal in the future, I can use [this example] to my advantage." The Las Vegas-based Patron Spirits Company has yet to certify any endorsement.
